THE BUSINESS IN YOU DAILY: The Niger Delta Dialogue: Assessing development in the region.

Good evening and happy Sunday to you all! I am sure everything is ok with you and your families…

On the Business in You Daily for today, I am going to introduce a new series as entitled above. The reason for this is simply because I have been invited to speak at the 5th Niger Delta Dialogue holding in Port Harcourt sometime this week. To be able to prepare myself for this dialogue and to represent the interests of my young entrepreneurs and development activists very well, I have decided to raise a number of issues for our discussion before the d-day comes.

So today, I want us to discuss about “what we feel about the level of development in the Niger Delta region”. Can it be said that the many government agencies doing development in the region are on the right track? What about the State Governments in the region, how have they fared individually since the region started receiving special attention from the federal government and other development partners in year 2000 or thereabout?

I am sure you know that the federal government created the Niger Delta Development Commission; the Ministry of the Niger Delta Affairs; and the Federal Government Post Amnesty Program. What can you say about their achievements in improving the lives of the people of the region? Are you satisfied with these federal government institutions, including the various State Oil Producing Areas Development Commissions?

If you are from any of the 9 states in the region, please, add your voice to this discussion. Your opinions are for informative purposes only and I promise to bring them up at the forthcoming dialogue, where critical stakeholders and partners will be reviewing the situation in the region. In case you don’t want your opinions on this platform, you can send them to me via email at imostatejobs@gmail.com or via whatsapp on my direct line at 08038702075.

A new Niger Delta region is possible and you must strive to be part of this peaceful development process.

I thank you for your time and hope we shall have a robust discussion.

God bless you and good night!

I am youthscarely yours,
Remy Chukwunyere
