Youth Council election in Delta turned violent as Governor Okowa aides fight messy for slots By Jefia Dede

Elections in various offices of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter scheduled for today, ended violently.

Information according to an eyewitness, stated that trouble started when the Commissioner for youths and the S.A on youths had their interests clashed for contested offices.

According to the delegate, the Chairmanship slot was given to the Governor, while the Commissioner requested for the Vice chairman and Secretary positions. This according to him, did not go down well with the S.A who had his brothers running for same offices.

It was reliably gathered that the S.A insisted that candidates for other offices must go through elections. Seeing that he will lose out if election is conducted for his candidates, the Commissioner ordered his boys to disrupt the process, this resulted in fierce brawl between both shameless parties.

Consequently, the elections were declared inconclusive. This is the second in the series of events where the Governor and his aides has attempted to impose candidate.
