Imo Speaker, Ihim, Attends Speakers Conference in Abuja expected to speak on Issues concerning Niger Delta

The Imo State Speaker, Ihim, is expected back in the state at the end of the conference currently taking place at the associations secretariat at House 1, Road 11, First Avenue, Gwarinpa Estate.

The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Dr) Acho Ihim yesterday left the state to join his counterparts in the country who for a two-day conference in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

In a release issued by the Chief Press Secretary, CPS to the Speaker, Ilochonwu Bennett, the chief lawmakers are billed to make critical interventions on possible ways of further consolidating the nations democracy through the legislative framework.

They will elaborately X-ray the nations failing economy and profer solutions to the economic quagmire with a view to strengthening the proactive economic reform policies of the Federal Government, FG.

Topical among issues to be discussed are insecurity, religious and political upheavals in some parts of the country.

Rt Hon Ihim who is the Vice Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly as captured in the release will raise concern over the painful marginalisation of the state in the Niger-Delta region in line with the agitations made by Governor Okorocha during the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the state recently.
