This decision is based on our conviction that the JDPCs in Nigeria over the years have proved to be a credible and well organized development institution that has the capacity to drive the massive economic development program DFID MADE is bringing to Imo people through the State Directorate for Employment and Job Center.

According to Tunde Oderinde, the Team Leader…“For us at DFID MADE, we apply market led development approaches in order to ensure the sustainability of the impacts our projects will make in the lives of the people, even when we leave and our support stops. Therefore, for this approach to succeed, we usually involve private sector operators, so that they will give our interventions a business outlook and ensure that they are profit oriented for themselves and our beneficiaries.

He declared that his organization will in the next few weeks begin the implementation of an aggressive intervention program in both fisheries and poultry value chains targeted at the youths and women in the rural areas, who he said will be supported financially to become commercial poultry and fish farmers.

Tunde continued by reiterating the fact that Remy Chukwunyere who is driving the job creation policy of the Imo State Government has demonstrated professionalism and a passion in carrying out this arduous task unlike most politicians in government offices.”

Also speaking, Remy Chukwunyere, the CEO of Imo State Directorate for Employment and Job Center added that this partnership with the DFID MADE is in pursuit of the realization of His Excellency’s promise of massive job creation and employment generation for Imo people, especially the youths and women.

According to him, he has a mandate to reduce unemployment in the State through job creation and said, the government alone cannot achieve this tall objective and thanked the DFID MADE for accepting to partner with the Imo State Government led by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.”

While conducting the team round the facilities owned by the JDPC of Orlu Catholic Diocese and those of private sector operators in Orlu, Rev. Fr. Ihebinike, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs informed that the institution spread across the State will ensure that they assist DFID MADE and Imo SDE realize their job creation objectives, which brought them to Orlu.
