THE BUSINESS IN YOU DAILY: She Built “Upstairs” from Selling “Abacha”

Remy Chukwunyere writes....

Good evening and happy weekend from Port Harcourt! I am glad to welcome you to the Business in You Daily. Today, I will dedicate this edition to the amazing testimonies from the Meet Up Session I had in Port Harcourt at the Love Channels Christian Center.

Do you know that a woman was able to build an upstairs from selling “abacha”, the delicious flakes made from cassava? It sounds unbelievable but it’s true. That’s not all, she also trained all her children to the university level from proceeds from the same trade. The woman would have joined us at the session this evening but didn’t want to expose herself to the public. According to her, she has been in the abacha business for 18 years now.

Another woman, whose son attended the session, testified that her mum started a restaurant in their 2 bedroom flat. The parlour was used as the restaurant, while they lived in the other two rooms. According to him, today, his mother has successfully trained himself and three of his siblings as graduates as well as built a hotel from proceeds from the small restaurant business.

My dear, all these revelations started coming up when I reiterated on the need for young entrepreneurs to start small. It’s a master strategy for beating the challenge for lack of startups capital and the fear of losing money, which have strangled so many ideas.

For me, the meeting was really amazing because, I just realized that these strategies I have been passing around to young people are not just theories but realities of life.

Tomorrow, Sunday, March 05, 2017 is another day and I will be ministering during the church service at Love Channels Christian Center, 175 Ada George Road, Port Harcourt. Hahahaha…. It’s another opportunity for me to teach business strategies in the church. Like I have always said, God is not a magician. When you pray, you will need to start something and wait for the blessings of God.

So, may I once more invite you to “start small” by first joining me tomorrow by 10am at the above address if you’re in Port Harcourt? I promise to guide you into launching out that your idea. For seat reservations, please, call Nkem on 0811 344 5522 now.

Remember, we’re reaching you from the Youth Cooperative and Enterprise Academy. Sign up now at

See you tomorrow and good night!
