...As Adjogbe assures on equitable distribution of empowerment schemes within the Niger Delta Region.

Milton Atuyota sent in this story from Delta State.

It has been agreed that a synergy with the grass-root in any given society remains one of the ideals, pivotal to any full fledged democratic system.

The APC Evwreni Ward 8 in Ughelli North LGA and indeed, the All Progressive Congress (APC) at large, seems to have benefited from the age long truism as it scored a high number of decampees into the party at her just concluded Ward Meeting.

The APC Evwreni Ward 8 Chairman, Mr Clever Owhe, who welcomed the mammoth crowd of decampees, also emphasised the need for all members to actively participate in the ongoing voters' registration process.

This he said, would boost the party's fortune in the forthcoming elections as more members would then be able to exercise their right of franchise.

The Executive Director Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Engr. Samuel Adjogbe, FNSE speaking during the meeting also seized the opportunity to assure all, of equitable distribution of empowerment schemes and programs in the Niger Delta region.

"No state would be left out", he affirmed.

Speaking further, Adjogbe added:

"...Of course, qualified indigenes of Evwreni shall benefit from NDDC empowerment programs like scholarships, youth empowerment schemes, agro allied packages and so on".

The EDP who charged all party faithfuls to be united also encouraged all, to key into the ongoing shift from the Oil and gas sector to Agriculture by going into commercial farming.

"On a final note, I also encourage everyone to support the mandate of Mr President so that the dividends of democracy would be fully actualized", Adjogbe stated.

In response, Ward Chairman, Mr Clement Owhe lauded Mr President for appointing a devoted technocrat from his ward, to man the esteemed office of the Executive Director Projects in NDDC.

In his words, "It is a thing of pride for me, for Mr President to appoint a person from my ward as EDP. His appointment remains a round peg in a round hole".

Furthermore, Mr Clement Ishaka, a committed APC grassroot member, indicated his intention to contest for the councillorship position of Evwreni Ward 8, in Ughelli North Local Government Area and also solicited for support.

Other notable APC stalwarts at the meeting include Chief Donatus Ubah, Hon Ochuko Kumane, Hon David Imoh and a host of others.
