In an interview with the Director of Sports FPNO, Dr. Fidel Uhiara explained that NIPOGA takes place in every two years and various institutions are selected to host the Zonal qualification games where different schools will compete with one another to produce champion in the different games who will represent the zone at the finals in Nassarawa by April 2017.

Asked why FEDPONEK was selected to host other institutions in South East and South South zones, Dr. Uhiara hinted that security, good accommodation, serene environment, sporting facilities among others were some of the reasons that made FPNO to be chosen as the host school in S/East and S/South zones.

His words:

“One special advantage that institutions coming down here will have is that all the games will be competed in this campus. Nobody will have to go outside for any type of game like we did in Delta where we had to go to Okocha’s stadium for football. Here we have all the sporting equipment. So, you see that FPNO leads, while others follow.

The sports Director, expressed his appreciation to Rector, Dr. Mrs. C.U.Njoku for her hospitality towards the NIPOGA Officials and students saying the visitors were all marvelled at the love and care shown to them by our amiable rector.

He further advised our students who are representing the school in different games to be good ambassador of FEDPONEK, even as he encouraged them to remain focus, while bringing out their best during the final competition at Nasarawa in order to bring medals and trophies back to FPNO.

Meanwhile, he emphasised that sports is for recreation and NIPOGA is set to discover talents and skills in the different games as students meet new friends and make new contacts in the course of the event.
