Estate Management Graduates Association FEDPONEK makes history as they donates Office Complex to the department of the school.

The Estate Management Graduates Association (EMGA) of Federal Polytechnic Nekede has made history as they donated an office complex to the department on recently.

Interacting with newsmen, Esv (Sir) Chikezie Okoronkwo FNIVS who is the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Estate Management Graduates Association (EMGA), disclosed that the project was sponsored by graduates of the department as a way of giving back to the department that molded and made them what they are today.

He explained that the building is housing the secretariat of the department including the office of the Head of Department, administrative staff, departmental library and the computer laboratory.

The Estate Surveyor and Valuer who is a fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers pointed out that he initiated the idea of a departmental complex when he assumed office as the first alumnus Head of Department of Estate Management, FPNO in 2012 with the aim of providing a better environment for teaching and learning even while he expressed gratitude to the Rector, Dr. Mrs. Cele Ugochi Njoku for helping EMGA to achieve this great feat by approving the project and providing a plot of land for them. 

Speaking further, he commended the leadership of the alumni led by Esv (Chief) K.C.Oranekwu and said he is proud of the exploits of his members in all areas of lives especially in their profession, politics, and education.

Other milestones of the association include: having two of their members, Esv. Monday Ngozioma Ahiwe and Esv. David Micheal Iheanacho as officers of Council of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers, among others.

Unveiling the building project, the rector represented by the Deputy Rector Academics, Barr. M.C.Chukwuma praised EMGA saying they have set the pace for others to follow. He thanked them for contributing to the growth and development of their Alma Matter as he called on other department’s alumni associations to emulate this great example.

Dignitaries present at the commissioning are the Registrar, Mr. Iloba Mattew Aligbe, Dr. Obasi Oko who is the Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance Unit, including the school’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Charles Obichere.
