The Imo State Police Command have captured two individuals from a famous abducting/armed robbery gang following a wild firearm duel in Owerri.
Two different presumes later kicked the bucket because of wounds supported amid the trading of flame, while the surviving two are collaborating with examination.
An announcement issued yesterday by the representative for the Command, said that on Friday, June 30, agents of the command monitoring unit while on routine patrol near an oil station at Irete in Owerri West L.G.A had encounter with a four man gang of suspected kidnappers/armed robbers. In the following trade of weapon shoot, the suspects were overwhelmed and captured with different degrees of wounds.
The captured suspects are named Ifeanyi Ebuka, 38, from Ishinweke Ihitte Uboma LGA, Emeka Nwigwe, 28, from Umuekwun Irete Owerri West LGA
The expired suspects are recognized as Moses Mberekpe from Orsu Obodo in Oguta LGA and Azubuike otherwise known as "Zuby" likewise from Oguta.
Displays recouped from the suspects incorporate the accompanying:
i) One (1) AK 47 rifle with breech no. BH-7812
ii) One (1) pump action weapon.
iii) One (1) sliced to estimate privately made firearm
iv) Seventeen (17) rounds of AK 47 ammo
v) Thirteen (13) rounds of live cartridges
vi) Six (6) exhausted cartridges
vii) Some charms and cover.
In a comparable improvement, agents of the Nekede Division of the command while on routine patrol along Ihiagwa in Owerri West L.G.A on Friday, June 30, had encounter with unidentified three man gang of suspected armed robbers who opened fire on sighting the patrol team.
In the followed weapon duel, three of the suspected unidentified armed robbers were overwhelmed and captured with different degrees of wounds. They however surrendered the apparition while in transit to the healing center.
Weapons recouped from them include:
i) Two (2) privately made short firearms
ii) Two (2) live cartridges
iii)One (1) motorcycle
