EMPOWERMENT: ENGR ENUHA EMPOWERS OVER 500 WIDOWS IN ANIOCHA SOUTH.

Over 500 widows on Thursday received cash stipends from a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Delta state, Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha.

Distributing the cash sums to the widows who trooped out to his country home as early as 8am, Hyacinth Enuha through his Personal assistant Mr. Nnamdi Ofonye said that the idea is the brainchild of his wife, Mrs Carol Enuha but who is currently abroad.

He insisted that he decided to begin the implementation of the project because he feels that the women folk especially the widows needed assistance to be able to sustain themselves in the face of the economic hardship in the country.

Enuha who is the chairman of Delta APC Elders forum insisted that the gesture is his personal contribution in nation building stressing that the era of apportioning blames or waiting for Government to come do it all is gone.

He said "Who is the Government than all of us. Although I have never occupied any Government or political office but I think the people who are starving out of the mismanagement of our national resources by past administrations will not understand or accept any explanation hence the need for all capable individuals to come out and begin to make their own little contributions".

He enjoined the widows to take advantage of the ongoing Inec voter registration to arm themselves with the instrument to effect changes where necessary for their own advantage and that of their children.

To the beneficiaries, the gesture is unprecedented in the history of Aniocha south. Mrs. Rita Eze and all the women could not hide their joy. She said that the money will go a long way to settle some of her bills as it is now a monthly and stable income.

Similarly, Mrs. Alice Ubaka narrated how life has been difficult for her and her 4 children after she lost her husband since 2013. With tears in her eyes, she said "It has not been easy for me to take care of my kids. I do all sorts of labour to make ends meet yet I don't meet up with the demands of the kids. This money coupled with the hope that it will come at the end of every month will give me confidence".

After receiving the cash, they sang, danced and prayed for God's protection on the live of Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha.
