Federal Polytechnic Nekede marks her 19th Convocation Ceremony

...As Rector Dr. Mrs Celestina U. Njoku charges graduands to be good Ambassadors

It was a torrential downpour of jubilation when Owerri community in Imo State at the weekend received graduands of the school from all parts of Nigeria and the world at large as Federal Polytechnic Nekede successfully held her convocation ceremony.

The event which is the 19th in series comprised graduands of 2015 and 2016 set who were recipients for the award of diploma certificates, fellowships and prizes. 

The rector of the School, Dr. Mrs Celestina. U. Njoku in her address advised the graduands to be good ambassadors of the school, their families and the nation at large. 

According to her, the convocation ceremony justifies that the graduands have been certified worthy both in character and learning which makes it mandatory for them to live a worthwhile life of emulation where ever they found themselves. 

She further reiterated the school's committed to set standards and create platform for intellectual contribution to the economic, technological and social advancement of the society. 

Acknowledging them for their good conducts while in school, she thanked the students union government who she said have been partners in progress. She also thanked parents, members of staff and governing council for being quintessential contributors to the production of these sound leaders of tomorrow. 

Present at the event were honourable Minister of state education, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, governor Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Executive Secretary, Dr Mad'Udu Adamu Kazaure, schools governing council Chairman, Chief Edwin Ogunbor and a host of other dignitaries.
