A former member of the National Assembly, Hon Ndudi Elumelu has lauded the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his determination to take the State to a glorious level among the comity of States in the Country, in spite of the harsh economic conditions that has bedeviled, not only Delta State, but the country as a whole since May, 2015.

Hon Elumelu, who represented Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, gave the appraisal recently when he hosted Media Executives under the auspices of the Delta Online Publishers Forum, (DOPF), in his country home at Onicha-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

He said that looking at the achievements of the Okowa Led government and his agenda when he was aspiring to be the governor of the state in 2015, all indices show that, the Governor has done excellently well, stressing that the people of the State have continued to be impressed and appreciative of his performance, considering the dilapidation he met when he took over the affairs of the state.

“Honestly, I have been so impressed with Governor Okowa, one for the situation that he found himself when he came in, I don’t know about other aspirants but I knew where we were, in terms of balances.

“And somehow he has been able to swim under and inside it and he seems to be coming out strong. So to that, I give him kudos.

“He has done reasonably well to kind of actualize what I had hoped for the State,” he stated.

The dogged and astute politician further stated that the governor remains an epitome of love and unity in the state, emphasizing that Senator Okowa has continued to use his privileged position as the Governor of the state, to unite the various nationalities and districts with his unbiased and unprecedented translation of the SMART agenda into action across the State, not minding the paucity of funds.

He therefore called on the people of the State to continue with their support and cooperation for the Governor in his avid determination to transform the State for the benefit of all, adding that with Okowa, Delta State is in safe hands beyond 2019
