Nigerian Army commence Operation Cat Race in Benue State To Restore Peace.

The Nigerian Army said it would start a noteworthy deployment of troops to the vexed conditions of Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Kogi and Niger to reestablish peace and deliberateness.

The activity is tagged: Ayem Akpatuma (Tiv Language) which means Cat Race. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, said the activity which keeps running from February 15 to March 31 would be targetted  at killer herdsmen, cattle rustlers, armed bandits, kidnappers, armed militias and other criminal elements in the six states

Tending to Newsmen at the armed force home office in Abuja, Buratai said the activity would cover the 1 and 3 Divisions, speaking to the North West and North Central geopolitical zones of the nation, while the Guards Brigade, 707 Special Forces Brigade, and the Headquarters Army Command would likewise be engaged with the activity. 

Buratai, who was represented at the preparation by the Chief of Training and Operations, Army Headquarters, Major-Gen. David Ahmadu, said other security offices that would take an interest in the activity are the Department of State Security (DSS) the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps and other security associations in the nation.
