Ekere hails Oshiomhole, others

By Inemesit Ina

The Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Nsima Ekere, has described the election of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) as a defining moment certain to strengthen party unity and engender massive victory for the party in the 2019 elections.

In a press statement he personally signed, Ekere said that with less than eight months to the start of the 2019 elections, Oshiomhole was poised to bring his wealth of experience and ingenuity in governance, politics and organization to bear in his work which was cut out for him.

He urged the new party boss to work closely with President Muhammadu Buhari, other party officials and stakeholders and the faithful to consolidate on the gains of his predecessor, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and lead the party to more success in governance at different levels and a bigger win in the 2019 elections than in the 2015 elections.

Ekere also felicitated with other members of the new APC National Executive Committee including the South-South Women Leader, Mrs. Rachel Akpabio, who was re-elected for a second term.

He explained that Akwa Ibom State retained the zonal women leadership position because the party decided to maintain the existing zoning arrangement from 2014 during the convention.

Ekere congratulated all APC members on the successful conduct of the National Convention which, according to him, ran contrary to the expectations of detractors who had predicted the party?s implosion.

The NDDC boss called on the people of the nine Niger Delta states to support Buhari and the APC in the 2019 elections to enjoy more democracy dividends.
