HOW UWAJIMOGU, TOE EKECHI, OTHERS LOOTED CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT, ASPHALT PLANTS WORTH BILLIONS OF NAIRA

ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES writes..

The Imo State Commissioner for Works, Mrs Josephine Udorj has alleged that some earthmoving equipment and asphalt plants belonging to the people of Imo State through the Imo State Ministry of Works were looted by some past government officials.

A former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and serving Senator of the Federal Republic, Chief Benjamin Uwajimogu, former Commissioner for Works, Best Mbanaso, former Commissioner for Information, TOE EKECHI and Pharmacist Donatus Ozoemena who once served as the Deputy Speaker in the Imo State House of Assembly were all accused of diverting these State properties to their personal use.

The Honourable Commissioner who revealed this to some newsmen said that efforts had been on for sometime now to recover these equipment from those who looted them, but to no avail. She therefore gave them one week ultimatum to return all these equipment or run the risk of having these things forcefully recovered from them with appropriate law enforcement agencies.

Meantime, Imolites have urged the Honourable Commissioner and other relevant government officials to immediately commence action towards recovering these equipment and any other thing looted by these men and any other person who may have been found to be involved in the criminal diversion of public assets and any other form of abuse of office and corruption. Those who spoke out on this insist that anti-graft agencies must be invited to take appropriate actions against these looters and their acolytes.
