Delta APC holds expanded State Executive Committee meeting


The Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, today July 14, 2019, held her first expanded State Executive Committee meeting at the Delta APC State Secretariat, Asaba.

In his opening speech, Delta APC chairman; Chief Cyril Abeye Ogodo thanked party faithfuls for standing firm in the face of many obstacles. Chief Ogodo emphasized that no consent judgement is binding on him and his executives as they were not party to such arrangement.

Going further, Chief Ogodo stated that his hands are wide open for reconciliation with aggrieved party faithfuls. The Delta APC Chair also stated that the major priority of his state executive is to takeover the state from the PDP in 2019.

The State Leader of the party, Olorogun O'tega Emerhor OON, while briefing SEC members on the state of affairs of the party in the state, congratulated Chief Cyril Ogodo and his executives for their successes at the congresses and for their successful swearing in. He assured that the new National Chairman was misled which enabled the Ogboru/Agege group to obtain a fraudulent consent judgement. That Comrade Adams Oshiomole is a man of truth and integrity and having now found out the truth about the fraudulent consent judgement, he will never support it. That the Chairman, along the Presidency have mandated our HM Dr Ibe Kachikwu to bring all groups together to achieve unity and peace in the party. He assured that legal actions are on and about 5 court cases have been instituted to vacate the contentious consent judgement. Be that as it may, Emerhor committed to SEC that he will work with the Minister in his bid to reconcile all parties and achieve peace towards defeating PDP in 2019. He assured all party faithfuls that there is no cause for alarm and that those banking on a one legged and shaky consent judgement will soon find the futility of their misplaced and phyric victory.

On his part, Chief Hyacinth Enuha, who was appointed the Chairman of the Reconciliation outreach committee, urged party faithfuls to be calm and go about their everyday activities geared towards promoting the party noting that haven been charged with the responsibility of chairing the reconciliation committee, he is going to do his best to bring all aggrieved party leaders to work together to achieve the aim of winning the state come 2019. 

High point of the meeting was the setting up of various Adhoc committees which included, Political Contacts, Reconciliation outreach, Strategy, Legal and Media committees amongst others to assist the SWC to move the party forward during these trying times.

Good will messages from the three senatorial districts were given by Chief Hyacinth Enuha, Chief Fred Olokor Okpohworo and Prince Okareme Maikpobi for Delta North, Central and South respectively.

The meeting which was chaired by the Delta APC Chairman; Chief Cyril Abeye Ogodo, had in attendance, the State Leader of the party; Olorogun O'tega Emerhor OON, Chief Hyacinth Enuha, Chief Fred Olokor Okpohworo, State Executive Committee members, the three Senatorial Executive Committee members, LGA Chairmen and their Secretaries, Chief Simeon Ohwofa, Chief Ngobe Emeni, Giddys Nwaomu, Chief Odoh Omah-Tadafe, Prince Maikpobi Okareme, Chief Martin Ohwoevwo, Elder Uba Donatus, Chief Ogheneaga Andrew Orugbo, Sir Godwin Ohwoekevwo, Prince SGO Kohwo, Dr Wilson Omene, Prince Sam Kohwo, Alhaji Mumaika Unagha, Hon. Tunde Okorodudu, Barr Emmanuel Pippa, Princess Lillian Hamilton, Deacon Fidelis Chimokwu, Capt. Gabriel Morka, Barr. Joe Asem, Sir Ejaeta Ojugo, Chief Fruitful Mekwunye, Madam Victoria Okechukwu, Chief Ezeudo Onuorah amongst other leaders from the 25 LGAs of the state.
