APC begins re-validation, registration of party membership

The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress is to begin the revalidation and registration of the members of the party in the 324 political wards in the state.

The exercise will commence on Monday, 14th August, and will end in 14 days.

The Chairman, Membership Revalidation Exercise Committee of the party, Dr. Amadu Atai, said this shortly after he was inaugurated along with other members of the committee at the State Secretariat of party in Uyo.

He said that the APC State Chairman, Ini Okopido has charged him to work with everybody in the party's interest. Atai explained that the revalidation of the party members across the state would deepen the APC and make it more vibrant at the grass-roots.

According to him, the APC in the state will work for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari because it is the right thing to do.

Atai said ?This is a new dawn. It is a period of reawakening for the party. My committee will run an open-door policy and we have vowed to do good to all members. We have vowed to unite the party and reconcile all aggrieved members as well as attract more members to our great party. The APC in Akwa Ibom State will work for the success of the party in the State and the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In Nigeria, we have one APC under the leadership of Adams Oshiomhole. In Akwa Ibom, there's no crisis; we're one indivisible family. The APC is growing in leaps and in bounds.

He added that the APC would win all the elective positions in Akwa Ibom State in 2019 because the party would present credible and competent candidates.

We are working hard to win the confidence of the electorate because we are aware that political power belongs to the people, he said.
