Thousands of Imo people trooped out earlier today to welcome members of the Imo State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress as the Party kick-started the LGA election campaign rallies in Nwangele and Nkwere LGAs of the State.

Even Mother Nature was cooperative with the Party, as the rains suddenly ceased till the rallies were fully concluded.

From the streets of Owerri to the rural routes leading to Abajah in Nwangele and Amaopara in Nkwere, women, children, youths and even the very elderly left everything they were doing to cheer the motorcade of APC chieftains as they drove to the venues of these campaign flag-off. Market women, artisans, commercial motorcyclists could not hold themselves from shouting; 'APC' and 'everywhere you go', as some of them abandoned whatever they were doing to follow the APC flags bearing motorcade.

A foremost governorship aspirant on the Party's platform, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu who was a special guest at the campaigns, thanked the new leadership of the Party for reinvigorating the Party within a very short time and restoring confidence of our teeming Party members in the readiness of the Party to win every available seat in the upcoming election in the State. He restated his unwavering support to the Party and urged Party members and non-partisan voters to continue in their encouraging show of support to the Party and its several people oriented programs and policies.

The Chief of Staff to the Imo State government reaffirmed his commitment to the advancement of the progressive ideals as enshrined in the Party's manifestoes and to build on the solid foundations, already set in place by His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Speaking at the first venue of the campaign flag-off in Abajah Centeral School field Nwangele, the State Chairman of the Party, Daniel Nwafor urged Party members and every qualified voter in the LGA to make their undeniable support count, by obtaining their PVCs and coming out to vote for the Party's candidates on the 25th of August, when the LGA election is billed to hold.

The youthful but vastly experienced State Party Chairman enjoined the people of Nwangele and Nkwere LGAs and indeed all Imolites of good conscience to continue to support the leader of the Party, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He praised the governor for his unprecedented achievements in the areas of education, infrastructural development, health sector transformation, youth development, wealth creation, security and all known indices of good governance. He urged Party members to stick together in order to win together and reap together.

He presented the Party's flag to the Chairmanship candidates of both LGAs; Hon. Chizobam O. Chizobam and Barrister Augustine Mbagwu, in symbolic affirmation of their candidacies. He wished all the councillorship and chairmanship candidates to continue their campaigns, especially, in the grassroots.

Critical stakeholders of the Party including the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, Transition Committee Chairmen, LGA Party Chairmen, members of the Imo State House of Assembly and aspirants were also in attendance at the rallies.

The campaign rallies continue tomorrow as the train moves to Isu and Njaba LGAs of the State.
